Pets are Affected by a Financial Crisis too!

We are aware that many families are currently facing the loss of their homes from foreclosures and job layoffs. While this is a hard time for you and your family, please do not wait until the last minute to deal with your pet's future. Often we receive owner surrender forms indicating that their move is going to take place in a matter of days, which is not enough time for us to evaluate your dog and find a foster home or kennel space.

If there is a possibility you will have to rehome your German Shepherd in the near future, please don't wait until the last minute to seek our help and don't abandon your pets. Start making arrangements now to work with reputable rescue organizations to help you find a permanent home for your animals. In the case of German Shepherd Rescues, foster homes are hard to come by and kennel space is limited and expensive. Just finding a place to put your dog, much less finding the right home for your dog, takes time. While you are waiting for us to have space open up for your dog in our Rescue, we have private party adoption listings where we can post your dog to hopefully help facilitate it's placement.

People often think it will be easy to find a new home for their dogs. They often count on relatives, friends or neighbors to help them out. Even if you have found a home, make sure they are educated in what is involved with caring for and living with a German Shepherd. If not, they may end up dumping your dogs at the shelter if things don't work out.

We want to help you out in your time of need, but we do need you to be proactive. Give us enough time to help you try and place your dog before you run out of time. We can post your dog in our private party section to help get your dog exposure before your deadline. If you may be facing the possibility of needing to rehome your dog, please see our Re-Homing information.
