Andy

Andy was rescued from a high-kill animal shelter on Friday, August 29th and was quickly diagnosed with severe pneumonia. Our regular veterinarian sent us straight to Advanced Critical Care where Andy is receiving oxygen treatments, IV antibiotics and fluids. He is fighting, so we are very hopeful. However, we are now facing yet another breathtaking medical bill with initial estimates near $5,000!

While we are committed to helping Andy as long as there is hope, we are desperate for the assistance of people like you who are reading about Andy's predicament. Please help us in any way you can!

Update 9/11:
Andy has been released from intensive care and is resting in a foster home. He is not out of the woods yet, but has improved. His chest xrays show little improvement, but his temp and other clinical symptoms have improved. We just found out that Andy also has a heart condition that we will need to have evaluated once he is well. Please continue sending him your healing thoughts and well wishes. Thank you to all who have donated towards his care. Please continue to forward his plea to anyone who might be able to support us as we try to save Andy!

Update 9/12 from Andy's foster home:
Just wanted to update you on Andy...he is doing much much better these days. He still has a cough but is bright eyed and eats really well. The two double cheeseburgers for breakfast and dinner with his meds has made a huge difference. No more throwing up and he walks around the yard with a lot more energy. I have been free feeding him dry food during the day and he puts a dent in that too! I have still been keeping him on crate rest so he can really tackle this thing but he always seems more alert & happy these days!

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $350 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
