Angel, Rescue's newest debutante, has a wonderful motto: "From Stray to Yay in a Day". This little gal went from being a wounded stray to attending a recent adoption event complete with a little shaved hip, stitched wounds and drainage tubes. Needless to say, she stole the show! Everyone who asked was told her story so we want to share it with you as well. Angel was picked up as a stray and made her way to Rescue just a few days later. No one knows what caused her injury but there was an entrance wound and an exit wound where something sharp like an arrow went through the fleshy part of her hip. A trip to the vet was the first order of business upon arrival at Rescue, and now she's on her way to recovery.

Back to Angel's story and the adoption event. This little charmer caught the eye of some of our handsome boy dogs. Othello, our big new footless wonder, and Harry, the victim of a coyote attack, were both vying to fill her dance card. And when you are the belle of the ball, you have the time of your life. Just ask Angel! The day had lots of reasons for her to shout "yay" because Miss Angel went to a foster home. Rumor has it that by 4:10 p.m., she had plopped her little behind on the sofa and crashed for a nap. Hey...a girl's got to get her beauty sleep if she's going to be this popular with the boys!

If you are interested in meeting me, please contact us via email at sddogs@coastalgsr.org. Don't forget to fill out our online application.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
