Apex

Hello – My name is Apex. My brother, Atlas (who is also up for adoption) and I were abandoned very young and found by some nice volunteers at the rescue. After some nights at a shelter, and a long drive in the car (which I loved!), I’m at my foster home living the good life. Boy, things are really looking up for me now! I am a sweetheart puppy who gets along well with everyone. When I meet bigger dogs, I let them get to know me before I try to play with him. There are two big German Shepherds who live at my foster home, and I love to play with them. My brother, Atlas, bites my ears and plays rough, but I hold my own!

I also love to play with the people in my foster house. I love being held or curling up in a warm lap. I’m very charming and easy to get along with.

There is a cat in my foster house – I don’t quite know what to make of her, but I could learn to live in a house with cats.

I am a quick learner and like to please my people. I’m learning where to go potty, where to sleep, and it’s all very fun. I am a good eater, and I don’t try to take anyone’s food away from them.

When I’m not running around the yard playing, I am very easygoing. While I am cute, I will also require a lot of time and patience from my forever owners. I want to learn to please you, and I would make a great companion. I’m planning to be very big one day, but in the meantime I will need a lot of training and love to grow into a happy, healthy pet!

Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. Don't even think of adopting a puppy unless you intend to invest the time and money and commitment required, and you can expect to lose a few good shoes along the way!

If you are interested in meeting me, please contact Teresa via email at baltao@sbcglobal.net. Don't forget to fill out our online application.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
