Atlas

All of our dogs come to us unloved and unwanted. Altas carried the additional burdens of a horrendous tooth ache and hunger pains. Since Atlas couldn’t tell anyone about the excruciating pain in his mouth, he just stopped eating. The poor guy was super skinny and nobody noticed until we took enough interest in him to listen for a cry of help. One of his teeth was cracked and the nerve was exposed. It is impossible to know how long he had to bear such agonizing pain, but we didn’t waste any time getting his bad tooth removed so that he could enjoy life again.

One of the things that is so amazing about Atlas is the resilient, easy-going nature that he has maintained despite all of the challenges he has faced. Atlas is so mellow and gentle that he loves everybody he meets regardless of whether of whether they are big, small, have four legs, or only two. At a recent adoption event he commanded a spot right in the middle of all the chaos and served as a model of good behavior for all the other dogs.

Don’t let Atlas’s size be a concern. You can be confident that he won’t drag you around the block. He understands that his human companions need to be able to walk along comfortably beside him, so he just falls into step naturally. One of his favorite treats is riding in the car…well maybe not a Volkswagen bug, but any family car will do. The gentle hum of the engine just lulls him into the most relaxed state. Unfortunately, he won’t stop smiling as the world drifts by, and he leaves a little bit of slobber on the windows. You have to wash the car once in a while anyway, right?

Regarding Atlas, size matters. Only a super-sized body could hold such a big heart!

We are asking a $500.00 adoption donation for atlas.

If you are interested in meeting me, please contact Teresa via email at baltao@sbcglobal.net. Don't forget to fill out our online application.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
