Atlas

Hi – My name is Atlas! I’m a mere six weeks old, but don’t let that fool you. I have the courage of a lion and tons of energy! I love to play with other dogs. Currently, I’m in a foster home with my brother, Apex. There are two BIG German Shepherds who run things at my foster house, but I try to put them in their place. It doesn’t matter if you’re 100 pounds larger than I am – I love to instigate the fun. I play well with all of the dogs at my house, and I am definitely the Energizer of the pack.

Don’t let my cunning good looks fool you – I’m also extremely smart. When I arrived at my foster home last week, I figured out how to use the doggie door before the end of the night. I’m working hard to learn great skills in my foster home like going potty outside, crate training, and learning to wait for my FOO --- WAIT!! Did someone say food? Is there food somewhere? I LOVE food! I’m a wonderful eater, and I offer to eat everyone’s food. I’m learning to keep to my own bowl… but you’ll never have to worry about me being finicky.

There is also a cat at my foster house – I haven’t figured those out yet. I’m much more interested in the cat’s food than the actual cat.

I am a very, very sweet boy who gives kisses to my people and is the life of the party at home. While I’m cute, I will also require a lot of time and patience from my forever owners. I want to learn to please you, and I would make a great companion. I’m planning to be very big one day, but in the meantime I’ll need a lot of training and love from you to grow into a happy, healthy pet!

Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. Don't even think of adopting a puppy unless you intend to invest the time and money and commitment required, and you can expect to lose a few good shoes along the way!

If you are interested in meeting me, please contact Teresa via email at baltao@sbcglobal.net. Don't forget to fill out our online application.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
