Baron
Baron is an eighteen month old intelligent, loyal and handsome German Shepherd ready for his new home. He has had some training and is eager to learn more. Like many German Shepherds, he likes to take part in his human family’s life and would prefer if he weren't left alone for long periods of time. He loves to go for long walks, play ball (his relinquisher said that playing ball is his favorite thing to do) and then take a long nap. He was raised with another dog and enjoyed the company. On the other hand, he'd prefer a home without a cat, thank you very much! He lived with three children who were nine, five, and two years of age and was great with all of them.
Baron came from a safehouse program at a local shelter. What this means, is that he was living in a home where domestic violence was occurring. The sad truth is that many companion animals are injured or killed in these types of situations. Thankfully, Baron was brought to the shelter before he became a victim.
The program is designed to allow the owner to house an animal, until that person can arrange new, and safe living quarters. In this case, it was decided to relinquish Baron to the shelter so a new owner and home could be found.
In summary, his relinquisher wrote that he is "a great dog, smart, friendly and protective of me and my family." You might ask why Baron was relinquished if he was so wonderful. His family came upon some difficult and challenging times and is no longer able to keep him. Won't you invite Baron into your heart and your life?
