Belle

When sweet Belle became available for adoption, kind shelter workers networked her. This was after Belle successfully raised (in a county shelter, mind you) seven adorable babies who were all scooped up the minute that they were available. Belle, as an adult, remained behind in a far removed kennel where no one ever saw her. She was surrounded by confiscated fighting dogs who slammed themselves at the ends of their runs non stop to gain the attention of the dogs around them. She withdrew & withdrew.

Finally, a kind shelter worker networked her to the shepherd rescues - Coastal decided to find room for her. Then the unthinkable happened...Belle charged the kennel worker and Coastal made the difficult decision to pass on her. BUT...through the tireless efforts of other networkers, a trainer agreed to go and evaluate her before her time was up. He sent us her video (click to view) so we could see how quickly she came around in a quiet and supportive environment. Obviously, sweet Belle deserved a chance, don't you think?

We were lucky to find a foster home for Belle with a man who has several of our dogs in his home and where she can learn to model appropriate dog behavior. Belle is still shy but she is learning that humans are GOOD! Belle is great with other dogs and will probably do best in a home where there is another well adjusted dog to help her along her path to being the perfect family member

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $350 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
