Animals can bring out the best in people. Dedicated and responsible people can bring out the best in animals. We are fortunate to have volunteers who want to work with our adoptable dogs to deliver unconditional love, affection, and healing to the lives of elderly people and children in our community who face physical or emotional challenges. We'd like to introduce you to Candy, who has recently excelled as a pet therapy girl.

Candy is a sweet eighteen month old girl who has a delightful and lovely nature. Just perfect for visiting with ten troubled girls in a group home and helping them come out of their shell. They fell in love with her! She plays ball, snuggles, and loves belly rubs. The girls enjoyed brushing her and helping her with "sit" and "down" commands. Of course, a treat appeared when she obeyed the commands. There's nothing wrong with a treat or two, right? Unfortunately, "roll over" proved just a bit too much, but maybe next time! If you are looking for someone to help you deliver unconditional love to others, Candy is the girl for you.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
