Cochise

There is a lovely song written by Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen, telling us that there are some people who'd bet that love comes but once. But we know better and could sing along with the lyrics, "I'm oh so glad we met the second time around." Cochise is a handsome three year old male who was relinquished by his family to a high kill shelter for no known reason. Fortunately workers at the shelter fell in love with him and kept him safe for a month until Rescue could take him.

While at the shelter, Cochise shared his kennel with a lot of different dogs and got along with every one of them. But he won't hesitate to let another dog know if he thinks it is getting out of line. He does like German Shepherds (who doesn't?), especially the girls. When you look at the photographs of this handsome classic boy, we know the girls will fall all over him just to get his attention. Cochise is still a little unsure of his surroundings but that's what happens when someone's world is turned upside down. He loves attention and will cling to you for it. Even though he was abandoned by the family whom he thought would love him and care for him forever, we are confident that Cochise will soon know that love, in fact, is better the second time around!

He is currently in a boarding facility. He would love to have a warm bed and someone to love him, whether it be in a temporary foster home or in a new forever home. Could you open your heart and home to this handsome boy?

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
