Cody

Get ready to charmed by this sweet and gentle spirit Cody, although we like to call him Cody von “smoochin” because he loves to give kisses! He is a handsome 3 - 4 year old male who has seen some hard times. He was rescued from a high kill shelter and like many dogs who come from the shelters, we don’t know his history. Our awesome volunteers swooped in to save him in the nick of time. Although, he came to us sick and very underweight, this boy has a prize fighter’s spirit. He would NOT give up. He hung in there and fought back from one of the worst cases of pneumonia in Coastal history. His strength has returned and he’s eating like a champ. Now he is waggin his tail again and looking good with a huge thankful smile on his face. This is one grateful guy who knows he was saved and is thankful for a second chance at a peaceful and loving family and is ready for his forever home.

He is eager to please and works well for praise and doesn’t have much of a ball drive. A perfect afternoon for Cody would be a nice easy stroll around the neighborhood and then resting by the door where he can watch the critters out side. He’s house broken and knows how to use a doggy door. He is light on the leash, comes when called and is perfecting his sit command. He is a mellow guy who likes to give hugs and would love to snuggle while you watch his favorite show “the Dog Whisper” on Animal Planet.

This is a real family guy, he loves kids (his foster home has 7 year olds), plays well with other dogs and when cat tested he wasn’t reactive, in fact, he shyed away from the kitty. He is most happy when he is by your side. He doesn’t care what you do, whether you’re outside in the garden, going for a ride in the car or standing in the kitchen, this love bug wants to be with to you. When left at home alone Cody has had free run of the house and has not been destructive but being alone causes Cody some anxiety and this is manifested by howling. He will need to have a doggy friend at home to play with him while you are gone during the day. Cody is afraid that his people won’t come back… Can you imagine being left behind by your family at a strange place… constantly looking through your cage, watching and listening, waiting for them to return and then realizing that they won’t be back… that your are truly alone in this world?

Could you open your heart to this good looking and sweet boy? Are you ready to be showered with kisses and hugs of gratitude from his gentle guy?
