Corbin

"Your dog has fleas! I found a tick!" These are sentences that a responsible dog owner never wants to hear. And most responsible dog owners take steps to protect their dogs by taking the time to learn about the life cycle, transmission, prevention and control of fleas and ticks. Corbin, a very sweet and handsome five to six year old black and tan male, would like to tell you that not all owners are responsible. Unfortunately, he is an example of what can happen when humans are irresponsible. Fortunately, he is also an example of how the kind and loving care he is receiving from Rescue will put him back on the road to his new life.

When Corbin arrived at Rescue from a high kill shelter, he was covered with fleas and covenants of ticks, all the way down his ear canal. For this to have happened, the infestation of fleas and ticks had to have been going on for months. Frontline didn't take care of the problem so now Corbin is on a three times a week bathing routine to get rid of all the scabs and to help his skin heal. His skin is as rough as asphalt just from being eaten alive, but he wants you to know that he'll soon be soft and smooth to the touch. He was also placed immediately on antibiotics. With the extent of his flea and tick infestation, he could have died in the near future without treatment.

While life has been rough for Corbin and we know that he was hurting internally and externally from all the parasites, he is on the road to recovery. In spite of these challenges, he always wags his tail. He is always happy and keeps a big, glowing smile on his face. In fact, at his first debut at a recent Rescue adoption event, he was a star. He projects the aura of a kind soul with a big heart, and everyone loved him. And if you decide to bring him to your home and watch him run around your yard, you'll have joy in your heart because his ears flop just like the flying nun's ears and the smile on his face which you can see from a mile away will bring a smile to your face as well!

He is currently in a boarding facility. He would love to have a warm bed and someone to love him, whether it be in a temporary foster home or in a new forever home. Could you open your heart and home to this handsome boy?

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
