Drake

Drake is a handsome White German Shepherd who lives up to all the adjectives for his breed. He is friendly, loyal, very intelligent, watchful and sensitive. Since they are also known to be very vocal and love to use their voices, Drake would like to tell you more about himself.

Drake first came to Rescue as a victim of economic hard times. His owner lost her job and her home and loved him enough to relinquish him to Rescue. When she relinquished him, she wrote, "He is a beautiful dog that deserves a lot of care and attention. Sometime when my life is more conducive to having one, I hope I'm lucky enough again to have another dog like him." Now Drake would like to fast forward to today. Drake was adopted but was relinquished again to Rescue after a year because he was doing his task of protecting the children in the home. But he was protecting them just a bit too much. The family was heartbroken when they relinquished him. Now he is looking for another truly forever home.

What would Drake like in his next home? He'd like a quiet home without a lot of people traffic. Children are so confusing and he cannot understand them so he'd prefer that his next home be an adult home only. He'd also love to live in a home with at least one very confident dog whom he could look to for guidance. In fact, he's proud to say that he's a firm believer in "monkey see, monkey do". He is housebroken, is well trained and is a very gentle soul. He's just a bit shy and needs a gentle home that will not only boost his self confidence but will give him the love that he needs and deserves.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
