English

Beware…this young lady’s jewel-like eyes and manners fit for the queen will charm you in minutes.

We found this poor, little stray at a Riverside shelter. They couldn’t tell us much about her other than the fact that she wasn’t leash trained. English was so timid that we literally had to drag her out of there. We can’t imagine what her life must have been like before, if she thought that the shelter was a nice place to be!

Our little debutante was a bit shy at her first adoption event given all the commotion, but it didn’t take her long to warm up and work the crowd. English made the rounds and met the other dogs without any need for human mediation. She was so calm and well behaved that people were completely stunned to learn that she was only about a year old. Her sweet, gentle nature allowed her to get along famously with everybody she met, especially the children. At one point during the afternoon, English rested her weary head on the ground and let three little girls stroke her while she took a little nap!

If English isn’t leash trained, than she certainly is a very fast learner. At first she strolled along at a pace far too leisurely to be considered “walking” and stopped at almost every turn to sniff. After a little bit of practice, she fell into step and paraded along beside me at a brisk pace. When she got a little bit ahead, a slight correction accompanied by the word, “heel” brought her right back in step.

Although English deserves the royal treatment, she doesn’t have high expectations…just some TLC, a warm place to sleep, and a master that appreciates how truly special she is.

We are asking a $400.00 donation for English's adoption.

If you are interested in meeting me, please contact Teresa via email at baltao@sbcglobal.net. Don't forget to fill out our online application.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
