Freckles

In a sea of dogs it's easy to be missed, even when you're as cute as Freckles. Freckles came from a shelter that averages 300 dogs at any given time, one where you have to get along with other dogs to survive since you are housed three to a kennel. Many rescues came and went, but they passed on Freckles because she just didn't quite fit the bill for their particular breed.

Freckles won the lottery when she got a German Shepherd as one of her kennel mates. How could we pass on this little girl? Freckles is a six-month old Australian Shepherd mix. If you look closely at her muzzle, you will see how she gets her name. Freckles rode for two hours in a crate with a female German Shepherd. They both lay there quietly for the entire trip.

When she got out of the vehicle, she was ready to play. She ran and played with the volunteers and the other dogs for at least a half hour before tiring herself out and laying down in the grass. Freckles is now safe with a guarantee that she will have many more days of play and resting in the grass as opposed to growing up in a shelter, her life ending, having known nothing but a wire kennel and a concrete floor.

Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. Don't even think of adopting a puppy unless you intend to invest the time and money and commitment required, and you can expect to lose a few good shoes along the way!

We are asking a $400.00 adoption donation for Freckles.

If you are interested in meeting Freckles, please fill out our online application. An adoption counselor will contact you. Due to the overwhelming response we get to puppies, we will not be able to provide information until we have an application on file.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $350 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
