Glory

Glory is a gorgeous petite one year old black and tan German Shepherd who recently joined us at Rescue. We don’t know her background but we expect she once had a home and then was abandoned. She’d probably do best in a forever home where her humans would be home most or all of the time. She will need a patient and gentle home to work with her to help build her self confidence. She might also benefit from living with another dog to give her the confidence and company that she needs.

In her current foster home, she is fearful when she realizes that her human is about the leave the house but staying behind with another dog seems to calm her. She is reluctant to enter her crate but settles down quickly when inside. She is very responsive to commands such as “Easy” or “Ssshh” but also shows some independent thinking from time to time. She may also be fine with children. Finally, it appears that she is house broken.

From time to time, all of us experience feelings of shyness or perhaps we lack self-confidence in certain situations. Just like people, each dog has its own personality. The reasons for shyness or lack of self confidence are numerous. Maybe it is their life experience. Maybe they were raised in a loving home but they weren’t socialized as puppies so they had no opportunity to meet new people and associate with other dogs. And remember that German Shepherds are very people-oriented dogs and must spend time with their human family.

Glory is ready to move into your home and join your family. She’s eager to learn self-confidence because she doesn’t want to miss out on all the fun stuff in life!

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
