Gracie

It is not known who wrote the words, "The eyes are the windows to the soul." They may have been written by an Arab of ancient times or they may be from the Old Testament version of the Bible. But we do know that the meaning of the words is that by looking into the eyes of a person one can see their hidden emotions and thoughts. We also believe that by looking in the eyes of Gracie, a new addition to Rescue, her eyes could tell you a hundred stories about her and her life. We'll never know what happened to her in the past but we do know that her future will be full of love and happy times.

Gracie is a very sweet girl and it's not surprising that right now she is a little frightened and bewildered. There have been so many changes and she just isn't sure of what's happening. And she's probably asking herself who are all of these new people?? Lots of love, leadership, and reassurance will make a big difference and soon she'll be walking with her head held high, close on the heels of the humans in her life. By the way, the ride from the high kill shelter to Rescue was a bit of a challenge for Gracie's tummy. It might just be the stress or maybe she, like many humans, gets sick when riding in a car! We'll know soon. Won't you invite Gracie into your life? Maybe it will be your home in which she becomes the loved, happy, thriving puppy that she deserves to be!

Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. Don't even think of adopting a puppy unless you intend to invest the time and money and commitment required, and you can expect to lose a few good shoes along the way!

If you are interested in meeting me, please contact Teresa via email at baltao@sbcglobal.net. Don't forget to fill out our online application.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
