Hanson

Hanson is a very affectionate, loving, and handsome one year old black and red male. His soft, soft coat has an exotic gray tinge, and he has striking golden eyes. He arrived at Rescue with Harley but they do not have to go home together. After being purchased from a breeder by a 78 year old man, they were backyard dogs, left outside, afraid to even enter the house. After the death of the elderly gentleman, they arrived at our Rescue where we know their lives have already taken a positive turn.

Hanson's twelve month journey would have been difficult for any dog. Dogs need companionship, care, exercise and training. If they are left outside for extended periods of time, they are deprived of those things. In addition, Hanson was a puppy during this time, and a puppy needs to learn how to relate to his family, his home, other dogs, and the environment in which he lives. German Shepherds are very people-oriented dogs and their loyalty and the depth of their bond with humans are legendary.

Hanson is smart as a whip and even though we think he had never before seen a leash, within fifteen minutes he was walking as if he had been in training for weeks. He is an active boy but will take strong, consistent leadership to bring him into his own. He passed our cat test, so he MAY be OK with cats. He already is full of love but now he has to become full of confidence as well. He'll bask in the attention of a loving home, grateful for providing companionship to you just as you provide companionship to him.

We are asking a $500.00 donation for Hanson's adoption.

If you are interested in meeting me, please contact Teresa via email at baltao@sbcglobal.net. Don't forget to fill out our online application.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
