Harry
In his former home, Harry's best buddy was Moose, a Schnauzer (yes, you read it correctly). Most certainly a real German Shepherd wannabe, Moose was Harry's best friend and playmate. Aren't they an absolutely great looking pair???
These are rough times for Harry because the human love of his life recently lost her home. That came on top of a medical diagnosis of a life threatening medical condition. Loving her dogs as much as she does, she made that tough and heart breaking decision to relinquish them. If you want a sweet, lovable teddy bear of a dog, please come and meet Harry!
Update from Harry's Foster Mom 8/19/09
He does great with other dogs. I really don't think Harry would hurt a fly. He is one of the sweetest, most loveable dogs I have ever encountered. He knows his "sit" command pretty well and even knows how to "handshake!"
Another thing to note about Harry...Even with his size, he is extremely athletic. He gallops instead of runs and is amazingly quick. Sometimes he runs up the stairs two at a time! He doesn't quite understand the concept of chasing after toys yet, but in time I'm sure he will.
He rides well in the car and walks beautifully, pinch or no pinch collar on him. He is a fast learner and when he does something unacceptable, once he's told "no" he doesn't do it again. I think Harry would be great with a family with kids, but any family that is willing to play with him, give him loads of love and attention is a well qualified family for this wonderful guy. He is goofy, fun and will make somebody extremely happy.
Note: Due to a mix up at the groomers, Harry went in for a bath and came back with a full body clip so he is certainly less hairy than his photos. Of course, it will grow back quickly and he will look like his old hairy self in no time at all.
