Heather

When we originally rescued Heather, she had a very obvious hitch in her giddyup. We were, of course, concerned and had xrays and several opinions provided. Heather has clean xrays, clean blood tests. The general consensus is that she may have had distemper as a pup and her somewhat herky jerky runs are related to that. Please don't let that stop you from meeting her! As she has received more and more exercise under our care, she starts out a little slow but once she gets motoring, she doesn't stop. So we consider her "unique". She absolutely loves other dogs and has demonstrated quite effectively her adoration for her humans.

Heather is housebroken and does great with other dogs. While we think she is fine with other species, she has met rabbits and is just a little too interested so we think that she'd do best without cats or rabbits in her forever home. Its not that she would hurt them intentionally, its that she may love them a little "too" much!

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
