Honor

Let's talk a bit about mothers and motherhood. Whether we are talking about humans, dogs, cats, or any other mammal, the needs are the same. A new mother not only has to take care of her baby or babies but she has to take care of herself. She needs to rebuild her strength with rest and good nutrition. Honor really did her best. She's a young and petite black and tan girl who was found as a stray with four puppies. From her condition, it looks as if she gave her all to her puppies. And that means all of her nutrients which were probably difficult to acquire during her time as a stray went to her puppies with little remaining for herself. She has taken very good care of her puppies but she has suffered in return. She has lost a lot of her fur. Feeding four little ones while not receiving the nourishment she needed was difficult enough but fleas and ticks have made her life even more difficult.

One of Rescue's volunteers said that Honor is one of the sweetest girls seen in a long time. She wants to be loved. She loves attention from humans but she also has enjoyed being with one of the new girl dogs who arrived with her from a high kill shelter. Having a playmate is good! And even the boys are quite nice!

Won't you welcome this new, loving, caring and compassionate mother into your life?

She is currently in a boarding facility. She would love to have a warm bed and someone to love her, whether it be in a temporary foster home or in a new forever home. Could you open your heart and home to this beauty?

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
