Jazzy

Jazzy is a five year old girl who could be named "Duck"or "Fish" because she took like a duck to water and she swims like a fish! How do we know this? Jazzy has been lucky to be invited to hydrotherapy swim sessions at The Total Dog in Oceanside. On her first visit, she waited patiently for her turn in the pool, playing with a tennis ball, leaping in the air and catching it. The ball accompanied her into the pool and many sessions later, she still can't get enough of it! Swim, fetch, and retrieve. Swim, fetch, and retrieve. You get the picture! Nothing deters her from her mission because even when a tennis ball sank to the bottom of the pool, Jazzy tried to dive to the bottom to retrieve it! Okay, on to more news about Jazzy.

During her stay in a foster home, Jazzy was described as "easy to live with". She is sweet, low key, and loved to accompany her foster mom everywhere. Her foster mom had a hammock seat cover and harness clip line in the back seat and Jazzy would safely curl up and wait until they arrived at their destination. She loves food - really loves food - so counter surfing was nipped in the bud early on. Now Jazzy knows that she has to wait for her food which is in a bowl on the floor, not on the kitchen counter or in a garbage can! She learned to use the doggie door right away. Night time found her sleeping in the same bedroom as her foster mom. Jazzy is fine with adults but cats are not her cup of tea. Other dogs can be a challenge as well and we expect that her experiences with other dogs prior to her arrival at a high kill shelter were not happy experiences. Jazzy can be very protective of her home and her family and didn't understand why the gardener had to be in the back yard. Are you the person who can give her direction and guidance? Who can show her that it's good to protect her home and her family but also teach her when she can relax? She'll love you forever. Love would be wonderful and having a swimming pool would just be the icing on the cake!
