Josie

Josie is a beautiful black and red female whom we believe to be about five years of age. She has a wonderful temperament and is great with other dogs. Like many dogs who find their way to Coastal German Shepherd Rescue and ultimately to their forever home, Josie was rescued from a high kill shelter where she had resided for two months after being found as a stray. Sadly, she was just hours away from being euthanized on the day we met her. Happily she accepted our invitation to join us at Rescue.

Have you ever had a toothache that hurt so much that you didn't feel like eating? Or even if you were hungry and wanted to eat, it was just too painful? That's what had happened to Josie. She was on the thin side when we met her and after some investigation, we learned that a root from one of her canine teeth was protruding out of her gum. She had been in lots of pain for weeks at the shelter but the tooth wasn't pulled because of the cost. We immediately took her to the vet, the tooth was pulled, and prescriptions for antibiotics and pain medication are helping her mend. Her pain is gone and she's already smiling again!

Josie will have a big smile on her face when she finds a foster home or her forever adoptive home. Currently in a boarding facility, she would love to have a warm bed and a place to call home.

We are asking a $500.00 donation for Josie's adoption.

If you are interested in meeting me, please contact Tracey via email at tmac@san.rr.com. Don't forget to fill out our online application.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
