Kennedy

Little Miss Kennedy has a had a very rough beginning. At only 6 months old she found herself dumped at a very crowded county animal shelter. Her owners brought her in and relinquished her to the shelter with no explanation. After the shelter examined her, it was found that she had pretty severe wounds on her legs. The shelter treated them as much as they could and then asked for our help. Kennedy has just arrived and will be seeing our vet team today. Her wounds are deep and filled with dead tissue. They will be irrigated and bandaged to encourage new skin to grow.

We are looking for a foster home for Kennedy while she heals. She should not be in boarding with these wounds! She is a spunky youngster who does not know she is injured. Her coat is plush and gorgeous and with her model looks, she is bound to be a head turner as she matures.

Little Kennedy is the life of the party! She is a happy, easy going, playful young shepherd that gets along with everyone. While she loves interacting with people or participating in a lively game of catch, she is also content to lounge around her yard or play independently with her toys. She is currently being fostered in a home with two other shepherds. After the initial meeting, she quickly acclimate to her temporary home and seems to really enjoy the companionship of her playmates. Kennedy knows basic commands such as sit and down. She does need formal training but is very smart and has proven to be a quick study. She is a fairly calm girl for still being in her puppy years and would make a good pet for homes with or without children. She is also a great guard dog as she demonstrates the ability to be protective of her foster family while still being friendly to visitors. Kennedy truly is the kind of dog you dream of as a kid and, given the chance, she will be a very loyal member of one lucky family!

Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. Don't even think of adopting a puppy unless you intend to invest the time and money and commitment required, and you can expect to lose a few good shoes along the way!

If you can help Kennedy by offering her a place to recover and heal or if you are interested in meeting her, please contact Tiffany via email at tiffany@coastalgsr.org. Don't forget to fill out our online application.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
