Kiara

Kiara is a dog that is always on the go . . . meaning, she is all about play. She is friendly with other dogs, although to her, all she wants is a playmate that she can run around with and wrestle with. I think it’s safe to say that Kiara is a bit more of a tomboy than that of a girlie-girl.

She will tell you what she wants and what she needs. Kiara is one dog that loves to communicate with whomever is handling her. It sure makes life easy for us when we don’t have to guess what she needs . . . she’ll come up and tell you.

Kiara will be great in a home with another dog that can buddy around with her, she is looking for her partner in crime!

11/06/2007 Update from Kiara's Foster Mom:
Kiara came to me following the evacuation of some of our rescue dogs during the fires. They needed to get out of harms way, so I took her in and have been loving on her for the last 2 weeks.

Kiara is a spitfire! I mean she is 10 months old. She made fast friends with my other foster dog Benson and they love to wrestle!! A playmate for her would be great, but not to say she couldn't be just as happy being the "only" dog of the castle".

Kiara is good on the leash, loves to go to the park, would make a great hiking companion, and is a lady when riding in the car. She loves toys! Her favorite? Just an empty plastic water bottle - do you know how much noise those make??

Kiara is pleased to show you how pretty she can sit, as she waits for her food bowl. However, that's not to say she couldn't use some work on her other manners - i.e. counter-surfing. She doesn't quite get that when I say "no" to this counter, it applies to ALL counters in the kitchen.

She is a bundle of energy, but at the end of the day a good round of cuddling will do her just fine.

If you are interested in meeting Kiara, please contact Teresa via email at baltao@sbcglobal.net. Don't forget to fill out our online application.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $350 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
