Kit

There was a lovely romantic song made famous by Roberta Flack when she sang the words, "The first time ever I saw your face, I thought the sun rose in your eyes." Let's just say that those lyrics are not sung yet by Kit, a super duper duper high play drive kind of dog. Why? Because he doesn't really know how to introduce himself in a socially acceptable dog sort of way. Rather than a slow and quiet approach, hoping the other dog will want to be a friend, Kit just kind of goes up and gets in his or her face. And guess what? Most other dogs really don't like it! Subtle hints that enough is enough don't seem to deter Kit from his desire to make friends. Kit would like to remind you though that he's a young boy who loves life. And he's a smart boy who is willing and able to learn good doggie manners.

On the more loveable cuddle note, Kit has a habit of going up to the volunteer at the kennel (yes, he's still waiting for at least a foster but hopefully a forever home) when she is feeding him and nudging under her armpit until he has his entire head under her arm and is able to give her kisses. He is a very lovable guy who is going to be protective of his family and will need training. And absolutely, no doubt about it, no cats!

He is currently in a boarding facility. He would love to have a warm bed and someone to love him, whether it be in a temporary foster home or in a new forever home. Could you open your heart and home to this handsome boy?

Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. Don't even think of adopting a puppy unless you intend to invest the time and money and commitment required, and you can expect to lose a few good shoes along the way!

If you are interested in meeting Kit, please contact Jordan via email at jkeilty@cox.net. Don't forget to fill out our online application.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
