Kizmit

Do you know the meaning of the phrase, "a New York minute"? It refers to the hectic pace that New Yorkers live their lives and is thought to have originated in Texas where it was said that a New Yorker does in an instant what a Texan would do in a whole minute! You may wonder why any of this is relevant to Kizmit, a gorgeous girl who was recently returned to Rescue after being adopted earlier this year. One of our volunteers who picked her up wrote, "She is one great, gorgeous dog for the right family. If we didn't have small dogs, we would adopt her in a New York minute."

Back to Kizmit. Why was she returned to Rescue? Her family added a small puppy to the household, and Kizmit was just too rough. She has lots of energy and loves tennis balls or anything else that she can chase. In Kizmit's world, that also includes small animals so no cats or small dogs, please. Now or in the future! Kizmit is proud to say that she graduated from a three week basic training course and is proficient in many obedience cues. These include sit, down, stay, wait (as at a door), come, drop it, heel, and crate (she readily goes into her crate). Like all dogs who have learned these commands, Kizmit would like to have an experienced human in her life so she can maintain what she has learned.

Kizmit is waiting for you to meet her because she's sure that within a New York minute, you'll invite her into your life!

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
