Knoxx
He is full of self-confidence, very loving, good with other dogs, although he needs to learn proper introduction. He and his brother do not like to be separated and Knoxx lets it be known that he is not happy about it. He would do well in a home with another dog to pal around with. Knoxx is going to be a very big dog.
Update 2/07/09 from volunteers Veronica & Andy
While on walks he always stayed next to our sides. He never pulled and stopped as soon as we stopped. We walked him around a shopping center and he was not bothered by passing cars, children, adults, or people on bikes. When we walked past other dogs he looked but never lunged or tried to pull after them when they passed each other.
At one point we stopped to talk with two other volunteers who also had German Shepherds. Knox simply stood next to us and as soon as he realized we weren’t going anywhere soon, just laid down and got comfortable.
FYI: When he’s ready to walk he lets you know with a little song. But this stopped as soon as we started walking or just give him a gentle adjustment of his leash and he gets the picture.
Knox is a gorgeous dog who is still growing. He has some wounds on his face, but these are healing well. Overall, Knox is a young, well mannered German Shepherd who will do well with an active, loving family.
Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. Don't even think of adopting a puppy unless you intend to invest the time and money and commitment required, and you can expect to lose a few good shoes along the way! If you are interested in meeting me, please contact Teresa via email at baltao@sbcglobal.net. Don't forget to fill out our online application.
The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Donate today using PayPal! Help us save dogs!
