Lindy
Update 3/19/09
We walked at a medium/brisk pace, stopping occasionally so she could sniff interesting bushes or trees. Before crossing streets, I would make her sit with a gentle push on her back end. During our first walk I tried a slow jog, which lasted about 5 seconds. She is definitely a walker.
Lindy is a very sweet girl, who stayed by my side even though she did not know me or where we were going. I noticed she was more attentive to the gentleman working at the kennel which makes me believe that she warms up to the people who take care of her.
The ideal family for Lindy would be an easy going and loving family. She does require some basic training but I believe that this will be an easy task, especially as she gets to know her new family better. Lindy gets along with other dogs and due to her calm nature would do well around children. Since she is about 5 years old and a little heavy, she better built for comfort not for speed.
Update from Lindy's foster family 4/08/09
She is just one of the nicest family dogs I have fostered in a long time! Great with kids, people, and other dogs. At our last event, she was being pet by 3-4 small children and sniffed by 2 huge Great Danes and she just stood there calmly, letting the children hug her.
Lindy is a fantastic and sweet lady. She is ready to fit in with her new family and be a great companion from the moment she walks into her new forever home. Will you be the lucky family who gets to have Lindy go home with them?
