Luna

Luna was delivered straight from the shelter to her first adoption event last weekend without missing a beat. Rumor has it that our little moonbeam rode in the car like a dream with the windows down and a big grin decorating her pretty face. Luna had quite a lot to smile about too. The nightmare of being alone as a stray was behind her, and she was part of the Coastal family now.

Even though she wasn’t able to spend any time primping for her first big event, Luna was a shining star. She displayed her classic White Shepherd pedigree with an aura of confidence. It is hard NOT to notice her when she holds her head high and strikes that classic pose. However, Luna’s beauty doesn’t eclipse any exalted sense of entitlement; she is as sweet tempered as she is stunning. She is a bit selective about other dogs, but only because she wants to keep company with a happy-go-lucky crowd.

Luna will profit from a little bit of practice walking on the leash, but she is so bright that it won’t take long before she is promenading gracefully by your side. Luna already knows the “sit” command and is happy to wait patiently beside you. Luna won’t let you forget that she is there. An occasional, delicate nudge will remind you to treat her to some much appreciated affection. She can also "shake" or place her paw on your lap.

Update from Foster Mom:
Luna is an easygoing girl who gets along well with other dogs. She is happy and calm in almost any situation, and she knows sit and stay very well, along with other basic commands. She is not a troublemaker and is easy to care for. She barely even gets her white fur dirty, but when it is time for a bath, she is very cooperative.

She likes to play with the big dogs at the dog park, and has just learned how fun it is to chase after a ball -- but likes to show it off to everyone rather than bring it back! Luna loves children and babies and is very gentle with them. She is a hit at the playground where all the kids want to pet the pretty white doggie. Luna just had her teeth cleaned to a sparkling white and has no health problems. She is ready to be adopted and will adjust well to any home.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $350 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
