MarneyMarney is a gorgeous three year old black and red female who was found as a stray. There is an injury on her right back paw and it looks as if she may have been caught in a trap. We know that will never happen again because from now on, she'll just receive caresses on those paws! She is very friendly with other dogs but failed her cat test. "Easy does it" is the best approach for now because she is a little head shy and frightened of her new surroundings.
Marney will have a big smile on her face when she finds a foster home or her forever adoptive home. Currently in a boarding facility, she would love to have a warm bed and a place to call home.
Update 9/21/09
We went to the San Elijo Trail and started out, with Marnie walking especially well, I think she knew she was in for a long one. While she doesn't have the same enthusiasm that some of the other dogs have, she did rather well. We'd make frequent stops, to let her smell the smells, or just rest up for a bit. Since it was getting kind of warm, we only did about a 2 hour walk altogether.
Back to the car for some water and treats, then off to Del Mar dog beach! Marney did especially well, with all the dogs there that were off leash. She'd sniff them, and they'd sniff her. Good socializing for her! The waves scared her a little, but I think with a little time and encouragement, she'd be a beach dog easily! We even got one nice gentleman to take our picture! She sniffed him, and he petted her. All was well!
We walked for another hour or so, to dry off before heading down to Petpeople and get some love and treats there! A bully stick makes for a nice treat on the ride back to the kennel, where she got a bath, and proceeded to go to sleep! She was one tired, and happy girl!
