Meeko

Beneath Meeko’s mild mannered “Clark Kent” exterior lies Superdog potential.

Meeko is the strong, silent type, but he is no bumbling bull in the china shop. He navigated his way around folding tables, chairs, people, and dogs like a pro at his first adoption event. Although Meeko could possibly be more powerful than a locomotive, he consistently showed his respect for each and every handler by keeping pace and waiting patiently in a “sit” whenever the handler stopped walking. He was eager to perform the “sit” and “down” commands in exchange for some hearty rumpy rubs.

You are probably wondering why such a super dog is looking for home, right? The Dynamic Duo (Meeko and his sister, Ziggy) spent their first four years of life in a dog run beside a home in a rural area of Santa Barbara. They were seldom invited inside, so one night they created some excitement by leaping the fence in a single bound to chase the neighbor’s small livestock.

Ziggy has already been adopted and is enjoying her new home in the big city. Consequently, Meeko will also do well to pursue life as a city slicker out of reach of his archenemies (livestock). Given that he thrives in the presence of people, his easy-going nature will allow him to become a super house dog. He understands the concept of an indoor voice, so he is never bothersome with barking or whining while you are trying to go about your business. Furthermore, he is completely agreeable to slipping into his crate at bedtime and sleeping peacefully all night long.

We are asking a $500.00 donation for Meeko's adoption.

If you are interested in meeting me, please contact Teresa via email at baltao@sbcglobal.net. Don't forget to fill out our online application.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $350 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
