Zach

Zach, or should we say Baby Huey, is an extra large, loving pup. We estimate Zach at approximately 2 years and once he gains much needed weight, he will tip the scales at well over 100 lbs. He is an absolute show stopper with a gorgeous color and texture coat. Combine his looks with his size, and Zach will never go unnoticed in a crowd!

Zach is extremely playful with other dogs. In his current foster home, he seems to prefers the company of his playmates (other Shepherds) to people. He constantly follows the other dogs around, begging for attention and play. He seems to be the submissive one in his interaction, however his size can be intimidating to them. He constantly grooms and licks his playmates.

We would suggest that Zach be placed in a home with another dog or dogs as companions (preferably larger breeds, due to Zach's size).

Zach is still learning to interact with the humans in his foster home. He is loving, but it seems as though he hasn't had much human affection in the past, so he is learning. He is gentle and shows no aggression towards people. He allows other dogs and people around all food items, toys, etc. He has no signs of being possessive of anything - just an obsession with other dogs. As the days go by, he is occasionally going to his foster people and wanting a head scratch or two. We hope his attraction to people will continue as he starts to trust and bond. He seems to be fine with all types, adults and children. We would suggest older children simply due to Zach's size. He is large and might not be aware of his own strength during play sessions.

Zach is puppyish and still a bit willful and will need obedience training and reinforcement of house rules. He does know basic commands, sit, shake, and come (although he doesn't always listen to this one!).
