Buffy
She is a dog that stays in a secure fenced yard during the day and is allowed in the house when people are home. She is completely housebroken & always lets you know when she needs to go out. She has a big dog pillow that she sits and sleeps on in the family room when she is inside. She is not allowed on the furniture. She does not have the run of the house at night and sleeps on a pillow in the laundry room during the night.
She is a thin active dog. She has never been overweight. Buffy weighs about 55 pounds. She has always been in excellent physical health & does not take any medication except heartworm prevention. She has always had all her vaccines & checkups at the vet. She is currently licensed and still has a microchip from her initial adoption.
Buffy has never eaten canned dog food. She eats inside the house where she always has access to a bowl of dry kibble. (Science Diet Small Bites, Adult 1-6 yrs formula). Food has never been a motivator for Buffy’s rewards. She prefers attention and praise. She sometimes gets small table scraps like bits of chicken or bread or a piece of an unfinished hamburger.
Buffy can ride in the car for short distances, but long rides seem to make her feel car sick. Her most favorite thing to do is go for walks. And she loves to run in open spaces off her leash. She also loves to play with her squeaky toys and owners even at 8 years of age.
Her behavior towards other dogs varies depending on where she is and the other dog’s gender. She will chase cats, rabbits, squirrels, rats and birds.
She is a good dog. She has never been aggressive towards a human. She is eager to obey and please. Buffy is good with elementary school or pre-teen/teen age children provided they are not cruel to her.
Buffy is 8 years old now. She has lost her children who are grown and moved away. Her owners are traveling a lot for their jobs now. She is a very loving & loyal dog that needs more attention than she is getting. We know she has many good years ahead of her and deserves to be in an environment where she is not alone all the time.
