Precious

Precious is a three year old female black and tan. She is good with other dogs, very sweet. She was found as a stray and had a limp. The medical staff thought she was too sensitive to be evaluated and treated and scheduled her for euthanasia as soon as her five day waiting period was over. Her limp has resolved. She gladly places either front paw or leg in your hand for examination or just for you to hold. It took her less than five minutes to start licking Chef Bob in the face when he first met her at the shelter.

She was just rescued from a high kill shelter. Like most of the dogs at the shelter, she came in as stray, so the shelter didn’t have any history on her. At this time, we don't know much about Precious other than our evaluator's observations and notes. We will post updates to her bio as we spend time and get to know her better.

Update 4/19/09 from her Foster Family:
Precious has been fostered in our home for a week and a half, and she has been a wonderful guest. She is very calm and well mannered inside, completely housebroken, and politely waits at the door for an invitation to come inside. She rides well in the car, is easy to walk on a leash, and is very loving and affectionate. We have two male dogs (one big, one small) and she has been inviting them to play and is very friendly with them, no fights over food or toys or anything. She gets along with all the dogs she has encountered. We’ve left her indoors and she is calm and quiet in the house while we are gone. She sleeps through the night. She would be a great only dog, or could easily get along with other dogs also.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
