Raider

Raider is a huge, beautiful, wooly mammoth. He's a fourteen month old red and black guy who came to us from Palm Springs. They said, "He's a great dog". They were right!

As we learn about him, we know that initially he was afraid to get into his crate. Then he was afraid to leave his crate. The next time he had to get into his crate, he jumped right in. Definitely a quick learner! A slow approach is a good approach with Raider because he is a bit jumpy when touched quickly.

We don't think he has been around other dogs and his "bull in a china shop" approach when meeting other dogs will benefit from some introduction etiquette! When introduced to a cat, he hid behind the first person he could find. And since he is such a huge, wooly mammoth and the person was petite, any cat who wanted to could have found him! If you think his look could scare someone, just wait a couple of seconds and you'll see that he's the one who is a bit scared and wants to feel secure.

Raider is another innocent victim of the economic downturn in our country after his owner lost his home and had to move into an apartment. Fortunately he loved Raider enough to relinquish him to a shelter, confident that Raider would soon find someone who would love him as much as he did. From the shelter in Palm Springs, Raider made his way to us. Currently in a boarding facility, he would love to have a warm bed and a place to call home whether it be in a temporary foster home or in a new forever home.

We are asking a $500.00 donation for Raider's adoption.

If you are interested in meeting me, please contact Tracey via email at tmac@san.rr.com. Don't forget to fill out our online application.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
