Rolf

Rolf's family turned him into a high kill shelter in mid January - we don't know why. When we met him at the shelter, he was stiff in his body and abdomen, wouldn't make eye contact and we were a little worried about him. He went to his 1st adoption event where we let him chill in a crate and allowed him to tell us when he wanted to come out. Rolf took a walk with a male volunteer where he relaxed (just a little) and started to make eye contact. We found a foster home for him with lots of other happy dogs - within twenty minutes (20 MINUTES!!!!), he was wagging his tail, giving paw to his foster mom, his belly was relaxed and we considered him "normal".....

Rolf is a beautiful boy with deep piercing eyes - he loves women, is not so sure about men (we're working on that) and will sleep in a crate - interestingly, his first night was in an oversized crate and he whined through the night. On Day #2, he found the smaller crate which suits him JUST right and he will sleep very soundly.

While Rolf gets along with other dogs, we think he'd do best with an even keeled female - not too dominant or submissive. He will probably thrive with pre-teen or older children.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
