Shilla

Shilla named after a Korean Dynasty that ruled from 57 B.C. - A.D. 935 is as every bit regal as her name. She will be 4 years old this summer. She is a gorgeous coated female. Shilla is housebroken and knows how to sit, stay, and lay down. She is a typical shepherd and full of energy.

Shilla is very protective of her people; therefore experienced Shepherd owners are a must. She has living in a foster home and is doing well. She is currently residing with 5 other dogs and does well regardless of their size or sex. She is a typical working dog and needs a job, plenty of exercise, and to be included as part of the family. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines.

Update from Shilla's foster Mom 7/21/08:
Shilla has really blossomed in her foster home. She is gaining a lot of confidence and learning quite a bit from her new “pack” both 2 and 4 legged. Shilla will do best in a home with another dog of similar size that she can play with. She is quite the goofball and has found a best bud in one of her foster brothers. They chase each other and play until the cows come home. Shilla has an extremely high ball drive and will whine if you just stand holding the ball for too long. She is submissive with other dogs and quickly learned how to function in the group.

Due to her wariness with new people and new situations an adult home would be best. While Shilla is very smart and needs a job and exercise she would probably do best with at home exercise. Currently, her foster parents exercise her on their ½ acre property by playing catch and running stairs. The rest of her exercise comes from playing with the other dogs.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $350 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
