Taz

Taz is a three year old black and red German Shepherd whose owner's disregard for the rules of law put his life in danger. Taz's story, he was out with his owner who didn't believe that the leash law applied to him. When he received a fine for no leash, no registration, and no neutering, he decided that Taz was not worth the cost of bailing him out of the shelter, so he relinquished him. Unfortunately for Taz, he came to the shelter at a time when their numbers for adoptable dogs had been cut so drastically that he wasn't even scheduled for a temperament test. He skipped go and went straight to jail to sit on death row.

Skip forward to today, Taz is safe and looking for a new home with someone who will not only love and respect him, but not put a price on the value of his life. He is a compact little guy, weighing in at 65 pounds. He is somewhat guarded at first when meeting you, but easily relaxes just to sit beside you or lay down for a belly rub. He loves walking right beside you, being close to you. He gets along with other dogs. He is somewhat intimidated by heavy traffic noise and tries to get as close to you as possible if you are walking by a busy street.

Stay tuned for updates as we learn more about this sweet little guy.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $350 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
