Tilly

Poor scared Tilly. This young female was picked up by Animal Control with six puppies. A humane society shelter took her puppies because puppies are easy to find homes for, and left poor Tilly scared and alone in the shelter. She was so frightened that she was put on the euthanasia list.

Well, we couldn't let this sweet, scared little girl go to her death without ever knowing what a good loving home was like, so we rescued her. She's still pretty timid, but she's learning that people bring good things like food, and when they reach to pat her on the head they aren't going to hit her.

Tilly would love to have a home with someone who will give her time to come out of her shell and blossom into a wonderful family pet

update from 11/18/06
Tilly attended her first adoption event today and was a real trooper. The advancement that she has made since first brought into the rescue is amazing. As reported by her foster mom, at the beginning, not only would she NOT leave her crate, she shrunk at the back. At the adoption event today, she got to go for lots and lots of walks (with a MAN even!!!) and visited Petsmart and Office Depot.

Tilly IS shy, but she has never shown ANY aggression towards dogs or people. She just dis-engages. We think that Tilly was either abused in her former home OR on her own as a stray for a LONG time.

Tilly did so well in public today and we feel really good about her future prospects. She will still require a lot of patience but the best home for her would be one where she gets to experience the world around her and tag along for car rides, kids soccer games, the like. She will be a rewarding gal to adopt because she will continue to come out of her shell with positive experiences and lots of love!
