Timberly
This is an unfortunate situation. The good news is that we now have a lot of information about Timberly and we know she'll make someone a wonderful pet. Timberly loves walks and will need to be with someone who is willing to walk and/or run her daily. She loves the outdoors and loves to explore so a big back yard where she can run and chase balls would be ideal. While she does fine on a leash, she does get very excited and needs a firm hand when she encounters a small dog. Actually, anything under forty pounds is a small dog in Timberly's eyes! That makes cats, of course, a bit problematic as well.
When in the house, Timberly likes to be near her human. She'd love to sleep on your bed or lay with you on the couch but if you tell her "off", she understands and immediately will lay on the floor. If she can't be on the couch, a nearby recliner is a great alternative, especially if the two of you can watch Animal Planet! She is fully housetrained and understands the word "potty". When you first come home from work or when you are getting her leash so you can go on a walk, Timberly will sometimes jump a little or put her paws on the counter because she is just so glad to see you or so excited about talking a walk. However, she knows sit, stay, shake, down, leave it, and kennel, so we know she'll quickly learn that good doggie behavior means "four on the floor" even when excited.
Finally, Timberly does okay with new people but she needs a slow and proper introduction to tall men in dark clothing. We'll never know, of course, Timberly's life experiences but we do know that once properly introduced and with some time to check them out, she becomes comfortable. Slow and easy is important.
Timberly's adopter wrote as follows. "I really love this dog and I'm hoping someone else will love her just as much as I do. I just can't wait any longer, hoping my situation will change, and I need to do the best thing for Timberly." Can you please find a place for her in your home so life can be looking up again for Timberly?
