Tsunami

At two weeks old, Tsunami wasn't expected to live. He had caught an infection that claimed the lives of three of his siblings. At just one pound, though, he had more fight in him than even his name could have foretold. His chest was shaved where he received medical attention. He had two lacerations where an ulceration had to be drained on the side of his face. His limp little body, didn't give us much hope, but he was not ready to give up. He fought minute by minute and then hour by hour, and then the hours turned into days, and now, weeks later, except for a small size difference, you would never know that Tsunami had gone through his ordeal.

The sisters and brother who picked on him when he didn't have the strength to fight back got a rude awakening when he showed them he wasn't the weak little runt anymore. He loves to run and play with his brother and sisters. He's a very social little guy, with people and with other dogs. He has ears that pick up sounds like radar. Out of the four pups, he's the most curious, and he's ready for an adventure.

Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. Don't even think of adopting a puppy unless you intend to invest the time and money and commitment required, and you can expect to lose a few good shoes along the way!

If you are interested in meeting Tsunami, please fill out our online application. An adoption counselor will contact you. Due to the overwhelming response we get to puppies, we will not be able to provide information until we have an application on file.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
