Valiant
Every day brings this sweet boy a step further down the path of life’s 2nd chance. His journey began with a strong new name -– one that embodies the qualities of courage, fearlessness, nobility, and boldness that we wish for him. He is being nurtured daily by loving caretakers and volunteers committed to helping him develop trust and appreciation for human touch and companionship. He will need the commitment and patience of an extraordinary home to help him overcome his fears and to be able to embrace being loved.
Valiant’s saving grace at this point is that he loves other dogs and finds his comfort level in their presence. He would do very well in a home with another dog, so that he could observe a mutually-loving canine/human relationship and begin to experience it first-hand for himself.
If you can give this precious GSD the exceptional home that he so desperately needs and deserves, and are interested in getting to know him, please complete an on-line application and an adoption counselor will contact you.
Please keep in mind that though Valiant is making strides every day, he has a ways to go and needs a lot of patience and love to bring him to the end of his journey. With time, his fractured spirit will heal and he will be an ambassador for his breed!
Update 1/15/09 from Valiant's foster dad:
Valiant loves the company of other dogs and cats! "Tiger" our neighborhood "GSD tester" has "certified" our boy as "good with cats". Valiant is house broken and loves to go into his crate for relaxing and sleeping. Valiant would do best in a home with another pet (dog or cat) to help him learn from his brother/sister that people can be his friends too.
If you are interested in meeting me, please contact Teresa via email at baltao@sbcglobal.net. Don't forget to fill out our online application.
The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Donate today using PayPal! Help us save dogs!
