Winnie

Winnie is approximately 3 years old, black and tan, female. She and her partner were abandoned by their owners when they moved "to the city" a year ago. Her partner was taken in and adopted by a neighbor, but Winnie has been living on her own for a year now.

Neighbors left food out for her and she went from home to home to eat. They finally called Coastal when the heavy rains came and Winnie came to their door drenched and shivering. They considered keeping her themselves, but she was too playful for their Aussies. She is very sweet but is afraid of all of the new things happening to her right now, especially the leash. As you can imagine, also, having to hunt for her food has made her very protective of the food that she gets.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
