Wonder

Wonder is a 3 year old boy who loves all people, but because of his sight impairment he is guarded and cautious around other dogs and fends them off before he can find out if they are naughty or nice. As such, it is his preference to be the only king of his castle. We are not sure what caused his loss of sight, but we do know that it doesn't slow him down.

Wonder's ideal family would be one who had a big enough heart to look past his disability. He is a very loving and affectionate dog that needs an understanding human who will be his seeing eye guide.

Recently Wonder has moved into a foster home that finds his special needs endearing.

Update 2/26/09 from Wonder's foster family:
Wonder's foster family calls him amazing. He is enjoying the long walks he gets and is an excellent walking partner. His foster family is teaching him some commands and cautionary words for him like "stairs and curb" so he knows what to expect. He is mastering the climb up the stairs and now knows how to handle it at an easy pace. He is sleeping on a dog bed and loves his new treats and toys. He is very friendly with everyone and is enjoying the one on one attention.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
