Wyatt

Wyatt was scooped from a high kill animal shelter on his very last day. When we rescued him we knew that his vision was impaired, and vowed to get him the treatment that he needed. Apparently no one cared enough about Wyatt previously to get him seen by a vet. After being in our care for a couple of days and receiving treatment for his eyes - he has pannus, Wyatt took a turn for the worse and became very lethargic, didn't want to eat and just all around felt lousy.

Our vets confirmed what we feared, that Wyatt had a severe case of pneumonia. His right lung practically filled and his breathing capacity limited, Wyatt ended up in a critical care hospital for five days. He proved that he was a fighter and pulled through with dedicated care. He required additional hospitalization at our regular vet for an additional five days but was released in mid May to a foster home with other dogs in tow.

Wyatt is a perfect house guest. He relishes any bit of attention but is content to slumber by your side. He is housebroken, doesn't bark much and gets along with other dogs. He doesn't see very well but his sight has improved on the daily ointment that he will require throughout his life. This is an inexpensive ointment which requires application 1 - 2 times per day depending on how much his eyesight improves.

Wyatt loves to go for walks too! He also enjoys a car ride - he settles in and looks backwards to see what is going on outside his window. Dogs like Wyatt are so precious because they are so appreciative of any kindness - its always bittersweet because in our hearts, we know he wasn't treated kindly in his past - the capacity of dogs to forgive is humbling.

We commit to the medical needs of every dog that comes through our rescue's doors. We never turn our back on a dog with medical needs. However, we need your help to refill our accounts and to be able to tell our vet's that we can continue with Wyatt's costly care. Wyatt qualifies as our most expensive medical case to date - we've raised about half the money for his medical bill but are still working hard to find more funds so as you can see it is vital that we reach out to you to help Wyatt.

Any donation will go straight to Wyatt's care. Please consider helping Wyatt today.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $350 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
