Zoey

Meet Zoey. She's only four months old, and yet found herself picked up as a stray and put into a shelter. We found her and her brother, Joey, almost by accident, but we sure are glad we did. Her story became even more pitiful, when during a bath given by one of our volunteers, more than 20 ticks were pulled off her body, including from inside her ears. POOR GIRL!!

Zoey has unusual coloring. She is considered a "blue" shepherd. It is a genetic dilute meaning it dilutes all the black pigment of a dog and their eyes are usually lighter as well. So Zoey is considered "blue and tan" and her eyes are blue-gray. She's gorgeous.

It is fairly evident that Zoey hasn't had much human interaction in her life as she shys away from people. However, this is very easily remedied by someone who is willing to give her a little time to trust and socialize her in different situations. She is very good with other dogs, but don't let the relaxed-looking pictures fool you; she is ALL puppy, with all the energy that comes with puppies.

Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. Don't even think of adopting a puppy unless you intend to invest the time and money and commitment required, and you can expect to lose a few good shoes along the way!

We are asking a $500.00 donation for Zoey's adoption.

If you are interested in meeting Zoey, please fill out our online application. An adoption counselor will contact you. Due to the overwhelming response we get to puppies, we will not be able to provide information until we have an application on file.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
